About

Sofia Sawchuk, the curator of this exhibit, is a junior at the University of Connecticut in the Human Rights Archives lI class in the spring of 2022 taught by Catherine Masud. The items featured in this exhibit are primarily from members of the Armenian community who were interviewed for the first part of this class which was taught in the fall of 2021. The other items that were collected were cited and made known within the body of the exhibit or their source was specified when needed. This class was the collaborative effort of the Digital Media and Design Department, the Human Rights Institute, and the Office of Global Affairs at UConn. Special thanks goes out to Harry Mazadoorian, George Aghjayan as well as Lisa Natcharian for allowing the class to interview them and for also sharing their personal collections of their Armenian history with the class.
