The Herstories of the Armenian Genocide

Each of the women featured in this exhibit has faced at least one of the many atrocities Armenians faced during the time period of the Genocide.

Not only did these women experience the effect of the many mass shootings and massacres of the time, but they had also faced ADDITIONAL hardships that came with being a woman during the time as well.

Whether it be surviving a death march, living through a forced marriage or dealing with the effects of being raped or assaulted, the women who survived all of these hardships display an enormous amount of strength and resilience.

This exhibit tells the stories of some of these extraordinary women, and the steps they took to navigate the curveballs the Armenian Genocide threw at them.
